Mangochi, Mana: United States of America (USA) based International New Creation Ministries has called on the youth in Mangochi to take an active role in preaching the gospel of salvation.

Pastor, Lucas House of the International New Creation Ministries made the call at Mangochi Assemblies of God Church on Saturday during a Youth Conference for more than 400 youth from different Christian denominations that gathered to exchange ideas and to reflect on Christian life.

He added that the conference was relevant as it was meant to empower the youth to be instrumental in preaching the gospel of salvation to the world.

“You should be exemplary because God expects you to preach the Gospel of salvation to the people,” House said.

He encouraged the youth to turn to God and do His will.

House assured the youth that God is a provider and more important than any other thing or possession.

“Seek the face of God first because the youth in other parts of the world especially in Europe  have a lot of things in abundance unlike in Malawi  but what is more important is to seek the face of God and not any other things or possessions,” he added.

One of the delegates, Fred Chikopa from St. Andrews Anglican Church expressed gratitude over the youth conference saying it created a forum where youth reflected their Christian life and it also prepared them to evangelize.

“The conference created room for youth interaction and it allowed the youth to share ideas and it has prepared the youth to become change agents,” he said.

Chikopa commended the organizers of the conference during the school holiday when most youths were at home.

He observed that most youths were at home and likely to be influenced by bad companies to indulge in immoral behaviours like alcohol and smocking.

Chikopa cautioned fellow youth against indulging in bad behaviours that would not reflect well on Christian faith and values.

The Conference which was organized by the Assemblies of God Church brought together youth from the Catholic Church, Anglican, CCAP and the Living Waters and apart from praise and worship and prayers the youth showcased various talents through poems.
