Lilongwe, Mana: A Malawian tech start-up company Andromeda has developed a game-changing performance management application called Kaizen to help organizations in appraising the performance of employees.
Kaizen is a computer and mobile based application aimed at helping organizations and individuals to work more effectively to increase efficiency.
Speaking to Malawi News Agency (Mana), Client’s Relations Officer for Andromeda, Sylvester Mulanje, said that Kaizen helps organizations to be more structured and systematic in their day-to-day operations.
He said the application helps individuals track their progress by providing a platform to log in their tasks and set clear deadlines for completion.
“There are mixed responses from the public so far: directors feel that the platform will lighten their burden in terms of managing their organizations and improving productivity of employees.
However, employees feel like this is a witch-hunting tool which will expose those that are not working hard.” He said.
Mulanje said that they are yet to engage the government as the software was developed with the government in mind as the ultimate user to revolutionize efficiency and productivity in the civil service.
According to CRECCOM’s communications manager Linice Sanga, the application has helped their organization manage tasks and set priorities.
“The application enabled us to maximize our time at the office, which resulted in more efficiency.”
“Furthermore, we were able to identify which departments needed support and capacity building following the tasks which were tasked and executed.” She added.
Since its inception, Kaizen has already scooped two awards at the ICT Association of Malawi (ICTAM) where it emerged winner in the Connectivity category and second-overall winner of all categories in the ICT Innovations Awards, 2021.
