Kamuzu Barracks out do Moyale Barracks at their backyard

By Walughano Lumbira

Mzuzu, Mana:  Moyale Barracks FC have lost three points at home after they were beaten 1-2 by their fellow soldier,  Kamuzu Barracks in the 2022 TNM Super League game which was played at Mzuzu Stadium on Saturday.

The hosts were second on the ball as Kamuzu Barracks (KB) Football Club dominated the pitch from the first whistle that saw John Banda hit the net in the second minute of the first half.

However, Moyale tried to move into the KB’s zone but they failed to penetrate due to the disciplined defence ruled by Hebert Wayekha.

KB sealed their lead in 58th minute with a goal scored by Juma Yatina after communication brake down between the host’s defense and the goalkeeper, Mc Donald Harawa.

The visiting team was the first to make substitutions with Zeliat Nkhoma and Sammy Chiponda in place of Gregory Nachipo and Chimwemwe Chisambi to strengthen the centre.

After the last whistle, Assistance Coach for KB, Blessings Kawinga said he was excited with the performance of his charges which lead to the team’s superb win.

“We played well and I thank my boys for the win. It was not easy to beat our fellow soldiers at home,” he said.

Kawinga pointed out that the game’s officiating team was biased in some of their decisions.

Coach for Moyale Barracks, Prichard Mwansa said it was painful to lose at home.

“It is very painful indeed to lose three points at home with such a margin of goals. We did not play as a team.

Hebert Wayekha for KB named man of the match

We tried our best to contend them in the first half but we failed. Congratulations to our colleagues. We will go back to the drawing table and map the way forward in the next games,” he said.

Elsewhere, Blue Eagles FC whipped Sable Farming by a goal to nil through Micium Mhone.

KB is third on the log table with 52 points from 27 games while Moyale Barracks is stuck at position seven from the same number of played games.

Moyale will be travelling to Blantyre to play against Mighty Mukuru Wanderers on Wednesday before playing facing the defending champions, Nyasa Big Bullets FC on Saturday at Kamuzu Stadium.
