Inspirational Quotes for the WEEKEND

By Charles Leyman Kachitsa

Water is life, is a very broad statement with a lot of assumption yet so true. What would we be without water which amazingly forms 60% of our what we call the body of us human beings. A simple internet search brings this revealing fact, according to H.H. Mitchell, Journal of Biological Chemistry, the brain and heart are composed of 73% water, and the lungs are about 83% water. The skin contains 64% water, muscles and kidneys are 79%, and even the bones are watery: 31%.

The same report quoted above tells us, according to Dr. Jeffrey Utz, Neuroscience, pediatrics, Allegheny University, different people have different percentages of their bodies made up of water. Babies have the most, being born at about 78%. By one year of age, that amount drops to about 65%.

The point is not that I wanted to be scientific in this piece of writing, but that I encountered a difficulty yet normal question from my young son as to why since we require water we do not decide to live in water. Indeed, it will make sense as you will not be reminded each time to drink the required daily water intake he reasoned. The answer to that so simple is that human beings are a balancing act, we only require anything we need in precise quantities. Anything taken excessively above the requirement or too short of the requirement is dangerous and can cause harm to the same body it is supposed to heal. Balancing of anything as you know is a very difficult task, it requires discipline coupled with wisdom and knowledge. God created all, but he gave us the laws as a balancing tool so that the things that are supposed to sustain our lives should not be the ones to harm us.

The quotes this week comes from the book whose author wrote ‘The Secret of Ages ‘ a master piece revealing what many have asked themselves about themselves. Defining oneself as simple as it sounds goes deep to ones intellect as to how one sees themselves as well as what they think of how others see them. I am sure the selected quotes from the book listed here below will enlighten you to one or two life lessons, read and enjoy:

But when a man has no special skill or ability or riches or influence, he has to look to something outside these for success, something beyond material means. So he turns to the God in him, to his cell of the God-Mind, and of that cell he demands that it bring him fame or fortune or power or position. What is more, if he continues to demand it with persistent faith, HE GETS IT!”

“Not only that, but they have also proved that the powers of the mind are not bound by space or limited by time! Perhaps their greatest discovery is that the mind can influence matter without physical means. ——-  This has been done through prayer, of course, since time began, but the results have always been looked upon as supernatural. Dr. Rhine and other experimenters show that any normal person has the power to influence objects and events. —–“

“You are one with great ‘I AM’ of the universe. You are part of God. Until you realize that —– and the power it gives you —- you will never know God. ‘We are parts of one stupendous whole, whose body Nature is, and God the soul.’ God has incarnated Himself in some useful way, and there is nothing beyond your powers to do or to attain.”

“You see, in every adversity there lies the seed of an equivalent advantage. In every defeat there is a lesson showing you how to win the victory next time. The turning point in the lives of most successful men has come at some moment of crisis, when everything looked dark, when there seemed no way out. That was when they turned to their inner selves, when they gave up hope in material means and looked to the God in them for help. That was when they were able to turn each stumbling block into a stepping-stone to success.”
