The Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) on Friday joined hands with Mzuzu City Council (MCC) in beautifying the city by engaging in a cleaning exercise.
DPP members, including the youth swept Mzuzu bus depot and other streets within the city.
Speaking after the exercise, DPP Regional Governor, Kenneth Sanga, said the activity took place to help MCC in beautifying Mzuzu City.
“As you know the government of Prof. Peter Mutharika wants to see to it that cities are clean. That is why we thought it wise to do such an activity here in Mzuzu to show our participation in the initiative,” said Sanga.
He added that the party will continue to do such activities in order to promote hygiene in all cities and towns across the country.
After the sweeping exercise, Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) members converged to eat and cheer at their Regional Office in Masasa area.
