As the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) members continue to celebrate their election victory, Balaka Wing on Monday organised a victorious tour of the town plus a thanks-giving prayer service.
The tour was aimed at celebrating the victory of President Arthur Peter Mutharika and two Members of Parliament (MPs) namely Chifundo Makande and Bertha Mackenzie Ndebele for Balaka Central East and West, respectively.
DPP’s director of operations Mwai Kamuyambeni asked all political parties to unite in developing the country.
“We need to hold hands despite our differences in parties to develop Malawi.
“Let me urge each one of you to celebrate this victory in peace; let us not incite violence,” Kamuyambeni said.
Makande said in an interview that he will fulfill all the promises he made during campaign.
“I will focus much on youth development and education,” he said.
Malawians went to polls on May 21 to elect president, MPs and ward councillors.
