Fraternidade Semi Frontiers is set to implement Ubuntu Nation Project in Dowa to promote early childhood education and people’s livelihoods.
Speaking during a District Executive Committee (DEC) meeting Friday, Ubuntu Nation Project representative Casla Gascia Urbon said their plan is to sharpen children with excellent curriculum by building classes for pre-school kids aged 3 to 5.
Urbon said the organisation will also train people in carpentry, tailoring and electrical installation to promote their livelihoods.
He further said the activities will also include construction of a bakery and introduction of a bio charcoal project to help preserve the environment.
“The project goal is to reduce poverty and create new job opportunities. Through the bio charcoal project, we will be teaching people to make briquettes as a substitute to charcoal,” she said.
The project will take a period of four months and it will start at Manzi Village in the area of Traditional Authority (TA) Msakambewa close to Dzaleka Refugee Camp.
Ubuntu Project is funded by the people from the republic of Brazil and started in Mozambique then many other countries including Malawi.
