In a post-match interview with Malawi News Agency (MANA) Coach for Disciples William Mwanza hailed his team for having applied themselves throughout the season as the results are now evident.

“This is our biggest win of the season, we had a goal at the start of the season and we are pushing for that objective which is to be in the playoffs.”

“We knew how Knights play including the areas that they attack and so we closed them out and played to our strengthens,” Mwanza said.

Mwanza further appreciated his team captain Gracious Zimba for his efforts and said they will not undermine any team during the remaining 4 games in the league.

“Zimba is an excellent player he leads from the front, he played three big games this weekend and this was the biggest game.  We got three wins, we went game after game to achieve that,” he said.

Meanwhile captain for Central Knights who are second in CEZOBAL, Innocent Mbale admitted that his team needs to step up following the loss to Disciples as they anticipate a tough game against the defending champions in their next match.

“It’s a wakeup call for us, it’s no longer  farmer’s league, the league is getting better and so are the teams as you can see we also lost to Kamuzu Barracks on Saturday November 12,” he said.

“The next game against Bravehearts is tough, they have had their ways with us in the past three matches but we hope to bounce back and learn from this game,” Mbale said.
