Lilongwe, May 22, Mana: The Nigerian musician, Ojonimi Abraham Ejigbo popularly known by his stage name Nimix, says he is ready to work with more musicians in the country in as far as music is concerned.
The musician who visited the country last year and dropped a hitsong with Chichewa and English lyrics titled ‘Chiwaya’ told Malawi News Agency (Mana) that among other things his mission is to expand his fan–base in the country and also expose local artists abroad.
“I believe in Malawian artists, I believe in their industry, there so many talented people over there.
“By working with Malawian artists I want to expand my coverage and at the same time introduce them to my own fan base outside Malawi,” Nimix said.
The artist who comes from Nigeria’s Kogi State said at the moment he is planning to work with local musicians like; Kell Kay, Fredokiss as well as some up-and-coming musicians.
Born on April 4, 1989, Nimix ventured into music business in the year 2013, his popular songs include; ‘Hasinibu’, ‘Sapa no fit catch me’ and ‘Chiwaya’ among others.
Apart from Chiwaya, the artist also locally produced a track titled ‘Mulungu’ with video expected to be released in December this year.
The Afro gospel songwriter, singer and producer, was also once featured in a song titled ‘My daily worship’ done by one of the country’s big names in hip-hop gospel, Gwamba.
The song was included in Gwamba’s music album dubbed ‘True independence‘ which was released in 2022.
Commenting on the development, a Lilongwe based songbirds, Gireh applauded Nimix for his move to make more music collaborations with local musicians.
“The move will have more impact on us as Malawian artists whereby it will introduce us abroad hence creating our fan-base there; the initiative will also help to strengthen relationship between Nimix and local artists,” she said.
