Lilongwe, MANA: The Beach Soccer Association (BSA) says preparations are underway for the upcoming launch of HTD national league championship games to be held on September in Mangochi.
HTD pumped in K20 million to BSA two months ago to help the national championship.
In an interview on Thursday BSA Chairperson, Gift Chimbalanga said the national championship will help in talent identification across the country to select national team players ahead of African cup of nation’s beach soccer to be held in Mozambique.
‘’I am very excited that the league is resuming, most importantly that we are getting ready for Maputo 2022 AFCON finals,’’ said Chimbalanga.
Chimbalanga further expressed his gratitude that early preparations will give the technical team an opportunity to bring in new players that are able to take a huge task ahead.
‘’Despite the anxiety that has been out here concerning beach soccer following all the achievements it has come with, everybody was eager to come out and play, this will give them opportunity to showcase their skills as a lot of players have registered to be part of it, ‘’ said Chimbalanga.
The league started last week and this week on Saturday the 17 of September, there’s a launch of HTD championship which will host president of FAM, the HTD representatives and beach soccer association secretariats.
‘’There’s going to be a schedule of normal games in Salima as the league is in session now, this means the coaching and technical panel will also have the opportunity to monitor who has to be picked and in the process over the week.
The same technical team will be travelling all over the centres in districts like Kalonga, Mangochi and Nkhotokota to identify more players hence marking as an advantage of starting the league earlier,’’ said Chimbalanga.
