The French president Emmanuel Macron was recently in Ghana on a one day working visit and answered questions with his host Ghana president Nana Addo. One of the questions touched on the French stand in aid it gives to African countries such as Ghana. This raises the question that has always dogged most African countries, ‘Is it right for African countries to depend on aid from western countries for their basic needs budgets?
